Student’s award-winning art on display at Murlin Heights
Murlin Heights Elementary student Madelyn Mitchell knows how to create art with a bang. The second grader’s art work, “Wow,” won the Ohio PTA’s 2009 Reflections cultural art contest for Murlin Heights. Madelyn joined students across the U.S. in creating a work of art that reflected the theme “wow.” She chose to create a vibrant, glittery display of fireworks because “fireworks always make her say wow.” The art piece, completed with oil pastels, watercolor and glitter, is on permanent display at Murlin Heights.
