Welcome to the Helke PTA

The Helke Parent Teacher Association is a joint effort between parents and educators to establish the very best for our children. A foundation of communication allows for quality education and the ability to prepare students for a bright future. PTA strives to encourage community involvement helping to create a healthy environment and safe neighborhoods. We sponsor several programs throughout the year such as Everybody Counts, grandparents’ day, classroom holiday parties, Earth Day, and monthly birthday luncheons, which the kids love! The PTA also hosts many of the Family Fun events in conjunction with the school. These include the sock hop, fall hayride, blanket breakfast and food drive, spaghetti dinner, movie night and bike rally. Helke PTA lends financial support to the care of the wildlife in the Media Center, proficiency testing snacks, teacher start-up funds, staff appreciation events, and others. A yearly donation is made as well to the Mary Ann Wetzel Foundation and the VB Council Scholarship and the Helke Scholarship is also awarded. In addition, the PTA funds the Aullwood Adventures program and field trip transportation. Through our fundraising, we are able to do all of the above as well as contribute a gift to the school. In the past couple of years, we have added new landscaping to the front and purchased smart boards for the classrooms. We hope to continue the level of support we have been able to provide and even add new exciting programs as we go. None of this would be possible without you!
