Helke Principal Shows Her School Spirit!
The Helke PTA just finished selling
Entertainment Books for its Fall Fundraiser. The money raised from
the books support the various programs that the PTA sponsors such as
Aullwood Adventures, Birthday Lunches, Everybody Counts and
Classroom Parties at the Holidays. Each year, the PTA also chooses a
large project in which to support the school. Over the last two
years, they have purchased Smart boards for the building. This year,
the PTA is focusing on a Helke "Beautification" Project that will
align with Earth Day in the spring. They plan on
planting new bushes and perennials around the Helke campus.
The PTA challenged its students to raiser $5000 this year in
Entertainment books. If they met their goal, Helke Principal, Cheryl
Stidham agreed to dye her hair purple and gold! The students not
only met the goal but surpassed it by over $2000 and raised
approximately $7600 to support their school. Mrs. Alison Deisher's
class sold the most money so she had the honor of spraying Mrs.
Stidham's hair at a recent "pep" assembly at the school. If you are
