• Congratulations to Dina Patel, Corey Thompson, Sarah Sheperd and Marilyn
Hunsburger for placing in the Rotary 4-way test speech contest. Dina Patel came
in first place and will represent Butler at the District competition on April
11th at Wittenberg University. All four students will be presenting their
speeches to the Rotary Club on April 1st.
• The weightroom will open at 2:45 pm every day this week for football players.
• Butler’s Music and Drama Departments present the musical “The Wedding Singer”.
Performances are March 25, 26 and 27 at 7 pm in the Performing Arts Theater.
Tickets are $6 pre-sale and can be purchased at lunch or from cast members.
• On Saturday, April 24th at 8:00 AM, Smith Middle School is having its Smith
Spirit 5k – Run/Walk. Pre-registration begins at 7:15. You can pre-register by
going to the Smith Middle School web-page and clicking on the Smith Spirit 5K
link or pick up a registration form in the office. Come join the fun and compete
against your old teachers. There are special alumni awards and age group awards.

• There is a mandatory student government meeting on March 25, 2010. It will be
quick in case you need to get to practice. Remember, we are in charge of the
food drive at Kroger’s in Vandalia on March 27th and March 28th.
• Musical rehearsal will be at 4:30 today for choreography. Rehearsal with the
orchestra will be at 6:00.
• Boys sprinters should be on the track by 2:40 today.
• Mrs. Fernandez’s 4th and 7th periods need textbooks in class today.

• The Rotary Four-Way test speech contest will be held on today at 2:30. All
participants need to report to the TV room after school. We will begin as soon
as possible.
• The weightroom will open at 2:45 pm every day this week for football players.
• Reminder – Mrs. Ross’s Lunch Bunch Group and Peer Mediators will be meeting at
lunchtime Wednesday in the cafeteria.
• Wrestlers – The Banquet is tonight at 6:30 in the cafeteria. Appropriate
attire is required.
• There will not be practice today for Academic Challenge. There will be
practice next week.

• The Rotary Four-Way test speech contest will be held on Wednesday after
schoool in the TV Room. All contestants need to be prepared to give your
speeches on Wednesday.
• Reminder to all cheerleaders for next year: There is a parent meeting tonight
at 7 pm in the Morton Middle School auditorium.
